You can make international payments directly from the pay.com.au platform, through our foreign exchange partner, Send FX Limited. Pay.com.au facilitates these transactions but SendFX provides the international payment and foreign exchange services directly to you.
How do your foreign exchange rates and spreads compare in real-time against Airwallex, OFX, and Wise?
Any foreign exchange rates displayed on the platform are offered by and displayed on behalf of our foreign exchange provider, Send.
You can see an indicative exchange rate currently offered by Send on our International Payments page here.
How long do international payments take to process?
International payment processing times are generally 2 business days from the date you submit the payment, however for some bank account payments (depending on the time that funds are received), the processing time will be 3 business days. If you are unsure or making a time sensitive payment, please confirm with your account manager or support before proceeding.
What are the transaction fees?
As with domestic payments, there may be a platform fee (depending on payment method) and package fee (for PayRewards Points) – with more detail set out in our Pricing Schedule.
We charge a fee for facilitating international payments, the International Payment Facilitation Fee is 0.2% of the ‘buy price’ for that International Payment. This fee is built into the FX rate that the FX Provider presents to you and is not displayed, or payable by you, as a separate fee.
In addition to the above, for international payments, there may also be a flat fee, which is AUD$10-15 depending on the type of currency. This international payment fee is charged by Send and covers the wire transfer (i.e. international transfer). If the flat fee is payable, this will be displayed to you as a separate line item when submitting an International Payment Instruction.
Are there any transaction minimums or maximums?
Minimum payment amount for international payments is AUD$10. Large value transfers are subject to approval based on review of required documentation (see International payments source of funds).
What payment methods are accepted for international payments?
You can make international payments using Visa or Mastercard and a bank account (via PayTo). American Express and PayID are not supported for international payments.
Can I lock in forward rates or set alerts/hedges to manage currency risk?
No, you are offered a current foreign currency exchange rate by Send at the time of making your payment through pay.com.au and this rate can only be held for 2.5 minutes due to frequent currency market fluctuations.
Can I batch multiple international invoices or pay multiple suppliers in one transaction?
No, we only support single International Payments through our platform at this stage.
Can I see your Product Disclosure Statement?
International payments are provided by Send FX. Their PDS can be viewed here.
